Discover Natural Retinol for Anti-Aging Benefits

Zohra Scientific Skincare Introduces the Newest Alternative to Retinol, called Bakuchiol.

Bakuchiol is a Natural Retinol Alternative

Retinol is one of the most widely known and used ingredients in skincare, and for good reason. A vitamin A derivative, retinol was first prescribed only by dermatologists for the treatment of acne. But soon it was discovered that patients who used it, didn’t just benefit from blemish-free skin, they also had fewer fine lines and wrinkles and a brighter, more even complexion. However, even though the skincare powerhouse delivers incredible benefits, increasing cell turnover to help reveal new, healthy, youthful cells and erasing lines over time, it does have its downsides. Many who use retinol can experience irritation, redness and even peeling. So, what is the alternative?

In the search for retinol benefits, without the irritation, the natural retinol alternative, Bakuchiol, has become one of the hottest trends in skincare. Bakuchiol, derived from the psoralea corylifolia plant, aka the "babchi" plant, is not only plant-based and, but also widely praised for its gentle effects on the skin. In fact, it is EWG certified.

Traditionally used in Ayurvedic medicine, Bakuchiol offers those same benefits that retinol is known for, including line and wrinkle smoothing, dark circle banishing, cell turnover boosting, and collagen stimulating, without the harshness of retinol. Yet, Bakuchiol is safe for even the most sensitive skin.

Scientific Evidence Supports Bakuchiol which works the same as Retinol, but without redness or irritation!

A randomized, double‐blind assessment compared the power versus safety of topical bakuchiol versus retinol for facial photo-ageing. Published in British Journal of Dermatology in June 2018, the 12‐week study followed 44 patients who were asked to apply either bakuchiol 0·5% cream twice daily or retinol 0·5% cream daily. The results were remarkable. Both groups experienced decrease wrinkles, however, only the retinol group experienced burning/redness side effects.

If you’re looking for the benefits of retinol, without the toxicity, Bakuchiol is the clear choice.
